There are four routes on foot, as written in the book of the Bogor Botanical Garden Guide, published in 1997.
The first route starts from the main gate. This route can be traversed strollers and wheelchairs, so for those who bring children or visitors who use wheelchairs can choose this route. From the main entrance tourists will enter the path along 450 meters with walnut street name I. The name is derived from walnut trees (Canarium commune) that adorn the sides of the street. At the first intersection, tourists turn to the left, entering a path that comes pergola (para-para shade with vines). In the rainy season, the pergola will be more beautiful with green flowers are beginning to bloom.
Walk straight from this path, tourists will encounter special Treub laboratory used to study the physiology and biochemistry of plants. The name is taken from the laboratory name of its founder, Prof. Dr Melchior Treub. Standing next to the former home of the director of the botanical garden in the colonial era, which was built in 1884, along with the establishment Treub Laboratory. Former director of the botanical garden of the house currently has functioned as an inpatient home that can be rented by the public.
Across the home stays are hedge plants, one of which is the mascot of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, namely Amorphophallus titanum aka corpse flower. Interest arising from this Sumatra belong to the tribe of taro yarns (Araceae). In botany, a giant flower was first published in 1878 by an Italian botanist named Beccari. However, only 37 years later, in 1915, the Garden began to collect these plants. Corpse flower is special. Flowers with up to 2 meters high is just emerging with a cycle of 2-5 years. Besides identical with that pungent smell of the carcass, this flower has a dazzling colorful: a blend of purple violet, yellow, red, and chartreuse.

Walk on the carcass of compound interest, then turn to the right, tourists will arrive at the end of Jalan Kenari I. From this place, travelers can enjoy a view of the backyard Bogor Palace, which is even more beautiful with the presence of a herd of white spotted deer (Axis-axis) roaming the prairie. Deer is the result of breeding of deer taken Governor General Daendels from the border of India and Nepal.

The second route also starts from the first intersection Jalan Kenari I. But the difference, if the first turn to the left, then the second turn to the right. Walk about 20 meters from the intersection, visitors will arrive at the location of the tree or wood kempas king (Koompassia excelsa). Trees from Borneo is a giant tree with a height of 50 meters and a diameter of 1.5 meters. This tree reaches the age of 85 years, and was known as a strong tree, hard, and heavy.
After enjoying the views of the towering giant trees, visitors can switch to Block IIA and Block II C which presents the plants producing flax fiber used for rope, mats, and fishing nets. Turn right on this block, travelers will be treated to a collection order is quite beautiful pandan. After that, travelers will pass through the bridge crossing over the Ciliwung River that leads to the Swimming Victoria, where there is a giant lotus flower (Victoria amazonica) from the Amazon, Brazil. This giant lotus between 1-1.5 meters in diameter, while the white flowers appear once a week. The flower is quite unique because within 2-3 days changed the color to pink.
Another uniqueness if the traveler crosses the existence of these two is the oldest tree in the Garden, the tree lychee (Litchi chinensis). This tree is located on the edge of the pool Scissors and planted about 1823, or about 186 years ago. Trees were brought from China is growing in good condition until today. However, because of the relatively old age, lychee tree is no longer fruitful.

The third route follows the path of a second route to the area of Block I. From the Block I, the third route taking a straight line towards the Garden of Mexico. In this park there are various kinds of plants from arid areas in Latin America. From Park Mexican tourists will pass through the first suspension bridge to a region similar to the forest. In this forest there are plants ferns, plant spices, until ironwood or ironwood (Eusideroxylon zwageri). Famous ironwood strong and can last up to 80 years. No wonder if the wood is often used as a material for railway sleepers.

After the forest, visitors will pass through the Swimming Victoria, then crossed the Ciliwung River through the second suspension bridge. After crossing the Ciliwung River, travelers will be shown a collection of about 288 species of palm that is owned by this botanical garden.

In the vicinity there is a lawn garden tiger orchid attached to a tree. Tiger orchid is quite special because it has a flower stem length between 1-2 meters.
